A little addition to the chicken coop today: a wooden awning over the pop door (the chicken door into the run).
In due course it’ll have painted trim and shingles on the roof.

Thank you for sharing your work. I am trying to understand how to make something similar to your awning to prevent my olive egger hens from roosting on the top of my nest boxes.
Your design is very efficient, and I believe I can repurpose some scrap wood I have on hand to make a similar awning
